In the strictest sense, very specialized blades that are disc-shaped, with a hole in the center for gripping, used in leatherworking primarily to thin the leather. For semi-circular or other rounded blades set transversely in a handle, but not fully round sharpened dics, use "head knives" or "moon knives." For rotatable sharpened discs set into a handle or device, use "rotary cutters."
