Instrumentos tipo cítara de los apaches de White Mountain y San Carlos en Arizona, y del pueblo Diegueño de California, que consisten en un tallo de mescal ahuecado partido a lo largo o entero, con una o dos cuerdas de crin de caballo tendidas sobre pequeños puentes rectangulares, uno en cada extremo. Se sostienen horizontalmente con un extremo descansando sobre el pecho o el abdomen, y se tocan con un arco de crin de caballo.

Espada tradicional afilada en un solo lado de varias tribus de Indonesia. Inicialmente diseñada como cuchillo de carnicero, y luego usada como arma. Las tropas holandesas en Indonesia también llamaban a sus machetes modificados con este nombre.
