Nota de aplicación

An art trend in China, especially Sichuan Province, beginning in 1979 and lasting until the mid-1980s. Taking its name from the related literary tendency, Scar Art directly confronted the tragedy and emotional wounds of the Cultural Revolution, triggering wider reappraisal of the period as well as reflection on the role of art. Scar art marked the end of an era, where only positive representation of history and reality was considered appropriate, bringing art from a political tool back into a means of personal expression.
