Nota de aplicación

Decorative leather material produced by covering pieces of uniformly-sized vegetable-tanned leather with leaves of silver or tin foil and orange and yellow varnish that imparted a golden hue. Three-dimensional designs were added using stamps or embossing molds. Further color was added using paints and glazes. This material was then joined to create wall coverings, wall hangings, or screens. Gilt leather was also used as upholstery and book bindings.
