Confederation of tribes, primarily aggressive seafarers, who invaded eastern Anatolia, Syria, Palestine, Cyprus, and Egypt toward the end of the Bronze Age, in the 13th and 12th centuries BCE. They may be associated with the Philistines, among other groups.
