Literature, stories, and oral traditions having to do with the beginnings of a culture, civilization, peoples, land, deity, hero, or other entity; often associated with religious beliefs or mythology. Origins stories are most often literary or legendary; they are typically not historical, in that they are not documented and not considered true by those outside the culture or belief system.
