Nota de aplicación

Glazed pottery manufactured at Karatsu, Hizen Province, in the late 16th century. Early productions are typically untensils for everyday use, grainy in texture and painted with neutral feldspathic glaze. Later productions, after Korean potters were brought to Japan, were mostly fine tea sets with contrasting glazes, underglaze painting, and inlay designs.
