Included are tangible materials preserved under optimal conditions but without public access, designed to safeguard the integrity and important artifactual characteristics of the archived materials for potential future use or uses. Also included are digital materials that are unavailable or accessible for only limited use, stored as a safeguard for disaster recovery, due to copyright restrictions, or for another reason.
