Nota de aplicación

Genus of large, mainly deciduous trees native to eastern Asia, eastern North America, and the West Indies, having large leaves that provide shade and habitat for many birds and other animals. The name derives from the Catawba Native American name for these trees (the tribal totem), with the misspelling "Catalpa" being instituted by the describing botanist.
