Style and culture of the Patan region of Nepal, around the city of Patan southwest of Kathmandu. The culture represents one of the Kathmandu Valley’s earliest settlements, described as the cradle of art and architecture in the valley. The style manifests itself particularly in crafts such as metalworking and woodcarving.
