Nota de aplicación

Refers to the culture, style, and period associated with the reign of emperor Cheng-te, 1506-1521. The style is characterized by blue and white wares with Arabic or Persian inscriptions, a result of the Muslim-influenced government. They are typically marked with a six-character mark in underglaze blue, with others bearing only a four-character mark. These wares ceased to be made after Cheng-te's death, with similar pieces of lesser quality made during succeeding reigns.
