Artists, usually graphic artists, who specialize in drawing or otherwise representing the surface of the earth or another planet on a flat surface, showing the distribution of physical or geographical features. To distinguish those who are scientists in the discipline of cartography, who may also be artists who make maps, use "cartographers."
