Certain types of rafts or floats. In the East Indies, formed of two or more boats fastened together. In Brazil and Peru, rafts consisting of four or five logs fastened together, and furnished with a seat and lateen sail. According to legend, the jangada was the Neolithic boat used by Ulysses' in "The Odyssey."
